Telegram Review

Telegram iconSick of WhatsApp? Want to try something new? Telegram’s got you covered!

If you’re the sort who wants a messaging app that not only has privacy, but allows you to send any type of file uncompressed, then Telegram is the app for you! Not only can Telegram send photos, videos, and voice notes, it can also send any type of document, including APKs, text files, and even that latest budget review you have on your device. It is great for users too, who need privacy, with the Secret Chat feature, which allows you to send messages that self-destruct within a certain amount of time. Not just that too, Telegram is completely open-source and cloud-based, which means that you can use Telegram anywhere: on your PC or on your phone, all together at once, thanks to the developers who built the clients for the various platforms. Oh, did I also mention that you can send GIFs in Telegram?
Here’s a tl;dr in case you don’t want to read everything above:

Pros:

  • Material design
  • Multiple platforms with aid of the cloud
  • Self-destructing messages and inactive accounts

Cons:

  • Small user-base, depending on where you are
  • Chat wallpapers cannot be cropped and resized
  • Uploads take some time to finish for some reason

If you would like to try out Telegram, you can either visit their website at telegram.org to download the various clients, or you can grab the app for your device here:

If you can’t access the Play Store, you can use evozi’s APK downloader to download the APK directly.
