There were a lot of speculations about the rumoured ‘Eye’ Smartphone from HTC for quite a sometime, and it turns out to be a Desire Flagship.
The HTC Desire Eye smartphone boasts a front-facing camera with the same treatment as the rear camera. Both feature 13-megapixel sensors, and are both accompanied by dual-LED flash. Both the front-facing and rear cameras can shoot [email protected] videos. While the rear camera features a f/2.0 aperture and a 28mm lens, the front-facing camera features a f/2.2 aperture with a 20mm lens.
As for other specifications, the HTC Desire Eye boasts of a 5.2-inch full-HD LCD display; Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor; 2GB of RAM. The Desire Eye has 16GB of built-in storage, expandable by microSD cards (up to 128GB) and a 2,400mAh Li-Po battery. The device packs HTC’s trademark dual front-facing stereo speakers with BoomSound. The dimensions are 151.7 x 73.8 x 8.5 mm.
There are a lot of Software optimisations as well. Taking video chat and conference calls to a new level of quality and performance, the HTC EYE Experience’s face tracking keeps you perfectly framed at all times. The new Split Capture function combines simultaneous photos and videos taken on the front and back cameras into one split-screen image or video. Crop-Me-In places you at the heart of the action by cropping you from the image or video taken with the front-facing camera and positioning it within the scene captured by the main camera. With Voice Selfie, you can now capture Selfies with voice commands. Face fusion technology allows to merge your face with that of a friend or celebrity for a completely original look and with Live Makeup, where you can set the desired level of skin smoothing and preview the effect in real-time before the image is captured.
HTC will also be rolling out the Eye Experience to other handsets including HTC One M7, HTC One M8, HTC One E8, HTC One Mini, HTC One Mini 2, HTC One Max, HTC Desire 820, and HTC Desire 816.
