HTC has announced the Butterfly 2 for the Asian markets. The phone was previously launched on KDDI in Japan as the J Butterfly but will now be available in other Asian markets, including India, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand.
The Butterfly 2 has a 5.0-inch, Full HD display, Snapdragon 801 SoC with 2.5GHz quad-core CPU, 2GB RAM, 16/32GB storage space, microSD card slot, HTC Duo Camera with 13 megapixel main sensor with f/2.0, 28mm lens and additional depth sensor on the back, 1080p video recording, 5 megapixel front camera, water and dust resistant body, 2700mAh battery and Android 4.4 KitKat.
Packed with the latest HTC Sense 6 experience, HTC Duo Camera for advanced imaging, and an intuitive Motion Launch advanced sensor, the new HTC Butterfly 2 comes with solid specifications that can rival almost any other flagship.
The Duo Camera boasts a depth sensor in addition to the main HTC 13MP camera, capturing detailed depth information from a scene and enabling a range of beautiful and creative effects that allow you to do more with your images than ever before, just like it’s metal sibling HTC One (M8). The wide angle 5MP front camera is dedicated for selfies.
There’s also HTC’s front-facing BoomSound speakers involved, and through a collaboration with HARMAN, there’s digital signal processing (DSP) tech and a JBL in-ear headphones bundle in Japan.
HTC Butterfly 2 will be available in the Asian market starting with Taiwan on September 2nd. It will also be sold through major wireless carriers and retailers in Hong Kong, India, Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand.
